Flexor is a patented motor learning program, develop for golfers to improve distance and accuracy. The training improves specific in-position body-movement patterns, resulting in both instantaneous and long-term performance improvements in balance, flexibility, strength and coordination.

Troy, Michigan-based SwingTEK Golf Academy has established a two-month training program utilizing the patented Flexor® motor learning program that has been developed for golfers to improve specific in-position body-movement patterns, resulting in both instantaneous and long-term performance improvements in balance, flexibility, strength and coordination. The intent of the training is to improve a golfers ball carrying distance and accuracy.

The training program is scheduled to begin the first week of February, 2011 and run for eight weeks. It will consist of eight 45 minute sessions, taught by Larry Hamilton a Certified Flexor trainer and PGA Professional. The program cost is $429 and will include the Flexor Swing Kit of balance discs, foam roll, phisio ball and pump.

What makes the Flexor training program different from other training regimens is the fact that it is sport-specific training, done 'in-position', so that the trainee builds a balanced base and creates new motor-learning patterns. The benefits to the student include improving the brain/body connection, while building a more stable swing foundation, while at the same time increasing flexibility, strength and balance in all phases of the golf swing. According to the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine Center for Sports Medicine, "The Flexor Sports Training System has resulted in significant improvements in unique golf-specific physical characteristics, swing mechanics, and golf performance. The SwingTEK Golf Academy is an indoor golf training facility located 598 Oliver, Troy, Michigan, 48084. The 6,800 square foot facility features five hitting bays, a sand bunker, a pitching and chipping area, a golf simulator and a 900 square foot putting green. Visitors to the Academy can have their swings analyzed by video V1Golf software or the new state-of-the-art K-Vest 3D motion analyzer that uses a wireless 3D biomechanical vest to measure rotation, pitch & tilt of body and swing movements. T-Golf® training is also available, as well as a 900 square foot putting area equipped with a SAM Putting Lab, the ultimate training system that uses ultrasound measurements to analyze all the important parameters of the putting stroke.
